Fun Halloween Events in our Region

No matter how much we love waking up to sunshine streaming through the windows and spending time on our favorite lakes and rivers in summer, there’s something special about October. Pulling out a favorite sweater for the cool mornings, fire pits on the patio, and of course, October brings Halloween!

We’ve scoured the region for fun Halloween events and found a great list of things for you to do with your family this month. Feel free to take a travel mug full of pumpkin spice something for added seasonal enjoyment.

Costumes Candy and Cops Carnival

Join the women and men of the Sherriff’s office for a free trunk-or-treating family fun festival. Wear your costume, play some games, fill your bag with candy and watch a movie in our park. (Free Food, Drinks, & Candy while supplies last)

Goblin Run 5k and Fun Run

Join Bentonville Parks & Recreation for the 3rd race of the Run Bentonville Race Series: The Goblin Run. Costumes are encouraged for this spooky race around town. Special awards for the best costumes! Register and get more info online.

Teen Night: Fright at the Museum

High school students from all over Northwest Arkansas are invited to attend this annual Halloween-themed Teen Night, featuring live music, dancing, a costume contest, murder mystery, and artmaking.

Nightmares Haunted House
September 29 – October 31, 7:00 pm-Midnight

Nightmares Haunted House is a nonprofit fundraiser for the Bentonville Breakfast Lions club and has been haunting NWA for almost 30 years. Tickets let you experience two attractions – the 10,000+ square-foot haunted house, and their signature attraction, “The Phantom 13” zombie bus ride, now with Maximum Terror Drive. Be warned: If the zombies are too thick to drive though you may have to find your own way through the prison yard maze to get back to the haunted house.

Yappy Hour Puppy Costume Party

Pumpkin Painting

The Asylum Haunted House

Voted #2 Haunt in Arkansas by Scare Factor in 2017, and Best Haunt in Northwest Arkansas for 2014 and 2015 by Halloween Express. Final Scream

For 23 years, every October, the fiends who reside in an unassuming warehouse at Fort Chaffee have been collecting and feeding off the screams of those brave enough to enter. This year, they’ve concocted new, more intense terrors designed to tear the screams from the lungs of their victims to feed their morbid hunger. The Fort Smith Boys & Girls Club invites you to come be amazed and amused and GET SCARED.

Carpenter’s Mortuary Haunted House
Fridays and Saturdays in October, and Halloween Night

A haunted attraction that creates a spooky story about an actual mortuary. The building was visited by a professional paranormal investigation group in 2016 and deemed to be truly haunted – scared yet?? This is a 13-and-up attraction, anyone under 13 will need to attend with a parent. Find more info online.

Trunk or Treat

The Gentry Chamber of Commerce invites families to join them downtown for safe, and fun Trick or Treat on Main Street. Merchants and individuals will be set up on the sidewalks to give treats to kids from 5:30 p.m. until the candy is gone.

Community Fall Festival

If you’re looking for an all-in-one event, you don’t have to go further than this. Not only will there be Trunk-or-Treating and inflatables for the kids, you’ll also find a petting zoo, games and crafts, including pumpkin painting. Parents might be interested in the chili cookoff that’s planned, and everyone is encouraged to wear costumes.

Har-Ber Village Museum Fall Carnival
October 21st 1-3pm
Har-Ber Village Museum will host its 4th Old-Fashioned Fall Festival on Saturday, October 21, 2017, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.  Cost for the event is $5 for non-members and $4 for Har-Ber Village Museum members.  Experience the old-fashioned carnival fun of yesteryear.

JAY, OK

Trunk or Treat

You bet that this free event will have candy and games for everyone, and a costume contest will take place beginning at 6:00 pm at the gazebo. Get some souvenir photos from a local photographer, and sign up to bring your own car to pass out candy if you’d like (be prepared for at least 2500 kiddos!)

Fall Fest

This free event has everything you could ask for in a community event – games, food trucks, vendors, bounce houses… and we assume there is candy involved as well. Grab your favorite people and head over for a day of fun downtown.

There is a great pumpkin patch where you’ll find just the right gourd, or you can choose from a variety of pre-picked pumpkins. Pumpkin prices range from $1.00 to $75.00. In addition to pumpkins, your kids can ride the Mule Train and the whole family can enjoy the Tall Grass Maze. Complimentary hayride, picnic area, and haystacks to play on. Frankenstein – A Glow-in-the-Dark Dinner Theater

The Rogers VFW Hall will glow for two nights only this Halloween when Mary Shelley’s 1818 gothic tale “Frankenstein” will be presented by the Northwest Arkansas Audio theater. The live “radio play” will include music, live special effects, and appearances from favorite classic Halloween characters. Tickets and more info available online.

Annual Goblin Parade

Historic Downtown Rogers (Starts in Frisco Park)

The Goblin Parade of ghosts, goblins, princesses, superheroes, firefighters, cowboys, and more will parade through downtown to be greeted by our many downtown shop owners with treats. It’s safe fun for kids under thirteen. And did we mention there’s candy? Join in the line anywhere – Frisco Park on First & Walnut, or at the corner of 3rd & Walnut are easy spots with plenty of nearby free parking.

SILOAM SPRINGS

Riverside Entertainment Spooky Trio
Friday & Saturday nights in October, and Halloween

They claim the haunt attractions at Riverside Entertainment will leave you running in fear, screaming in terror and begging for more. Their trio of haunt attractions includes the flagship attraction the Warehouse of Fear with more than 24 rooms and over 10,000 square feet of terror and amazement. Walk across the way and discover The Lost Corn Maze. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, you will find yourself believing the Hatter is not the only one who’s mad. Then Finish your evening off in the Swamp Walker Zombie Shoot where you and your friends will ride through the zombie-infested swamp and try to take back control of your destiny.
