Grand Savings Bank is doing its part to go green. In late 2019, GSB formed the Green Team in an effort to create sustainable practices by launching the #LifeIsGreen Campaign. The campaign is geared toward advocating for more earth-conscious practices and educating our team on how to carry those practices into their personal lives.
“Our hope is that we can create better habits as an organization that make a true impact on the environment,” said Shanna Vice, Green Team committee chair. “This campaign can benefit not only how we approach ‘going green’ at work, but how we make decisions at home, therefore, making an even larger impact.”
Grand Savings Bank #LifeIsGreen Campaign
Each Grand Savings Bank department and branch was challenged to come up with a #LifeIsGreen commitment for the year of 2020. Those commitments included:
- Reducing paper usage by utilizing email and other technology
- Halting Styrofoam and plastic waste by encouraging reusable containers and bottles
- Installing recycling bins in break rooms
- Saving energy by changing monitor screen settings
“These commitments may seem small at first, but hopefully will lead to more environmentally friendly ideas for sustainability at GSB going forward,” added Vice.
